Refurbishment Program: lifetime extension for your crane
June 7, 2026Offshore and subsea projects require advanced technology to position loads precisely — on the seabed for subsea installations, or in the air when servicing offshore structures. The challenge is constant: the sea never stands still.
Active Heave Compensation (AHC) decouples the load from the vessel’s motion. Using real-time sensors and fast hydraulic control, the system keeps the load steady relative to its target even while the vessel heaves, widening operational weather windows and making load handling safer and more productive.
Heila integrates AHC on its HLRM and HR series cranes, combined with certified AOPS and MOPS overload protection systems. HR series cranes such as the HR650 and HR850 are designed for on-board, off-board and subsea operations, with winches capable of handling up to 2,000 m of rope and dedicated HPU.
