The HLM series is where Heila’s foldable telescopic expertise meets maximum compactness. With their rack and pinion slewing system, HLM cranes are very compact and light — ideal for small vessels where deck space is limited: multifunctional workboats, tugs and pontoons. We call them the workhorses of the sea.

The crane works in any configuration, with the boom extended upwards or folded downwards, offering great manoeuvrability. The double rack and pinion system with bronze bushes allows rotation up to 360° and guarantees safe operation even at higher heel and trim angles — and doubling racks and cylinders doubles the power of the slewing system while extending component life.

Control and safety come standard: counterbalance valves mounted directly on each cylinder, proportional electrohydraulic control valve block with internal compensation for simultaneous movements, and an electrohydraulic load moment limiting device that prevents overload damage.
